  1. For anyone who thinks that our own bureaucracy is bad, just be thankful that the unelected mess that is the European Commission is not involved with regulating shooting. I have just revalided my pilot's licence for the first time under the new European "harmonised" regulations and a single sheet of paper has been replaced by 20 pages, numerous guidance sheets and licensing unit that declines to answer the phone or reply to e-mails - two weeks of digging through paperwork instead of 10 minutes doing something that has worked perfectly well for years. I just hope that shooting is not anywhere on their list of activities that need centralised regulation. Nick
