  1. Owner: John Dunckley Website: www.redbournfishery.co.uk 60 bird shoot held every second Saturday right through the year*. Cost £15. A second round for £10. Start time 12:30, last ticket through the Spring/Summer months is 16:00. Tea and coffee are included. Bacon rolls can be cooked and purchased on request. Toilet facility on site. John and the Staff (of which I am one) are welcoming, friendly and helpful. Shooters must have a Section 2 Shotgun Licence. Fibre Wad cartridges only, which can be purchased on site. Shooting is strictly from 6 cages set up along the 0.5 mile site. Safety as with any shoot is paramount. Standard, Midi, Battue and Rabbit clays are used to provide varied and challenging but hopefully fun targets. Shooters can shoot in their own groups, at their own pace and in whichever order they choose. The site is best accessed from the A1081 Harpenden to St Albans Road. Turn into Beesonend Lane (last right coming out of Harpenden towards St Albans). There are brown Fishery signposts for the site and white boards are put up on shoot days showing the directions. Follow the lane for about a mile to the River Ver ford. Turn Right on the ford and follow the lane to the site entrance. (Accessing the site from the A5183 Redbournbury to St Albans Road requires crossing two fords). NOTE: website and Google maps flag the nearby farm as the site, IGNORE. So if you are looking for a friendly, challenging and inexpensive Sporting Clay shoot on a Saturday afternoon (as an alternative to shopping), come and see us, give it a try. * last shoot was held on 16th May, so the next one is scheduled for 30th May and so on for every second Saturday through the year. The site is on a flood plain so can be wet and muddy at times. Bear recent weather in mind before your visit, bring appropriate footwear as necessary. Corporate days are possible. Please contact the owner John Dunckley with any enquiries.
