  1. We had a roost after work tonight as we finished at 5pm we were making use of the extra hours light. I took a short video that I hope shows the amount over the woods from us, I would think over 1,000 pigeon (will add later). I had watched these birds for the past few nights, and every night they had headed for groups of firs. Tonight of course they decided to change their minds and go into Ivy! we went in the Firs? While setting up a hide with Fenny I heard two shots ring out....What was that I said to him...."Spy's" he said and two Magpies lay dead? To be honest I think he was serious as he then shot a Crow that "came to see what we were doing". We went on to get 35 Pigeon in less than two hours between us, I think only two got away from us with Fenny on top form with the new gun all shot with Hull Super fast cartridges. Despite getting 35 we were both a bit disappointed more did not come in as we had long periods of inaction. Driving back we drove around the Ivy patch...it was now dark and we could see & hear where all the birds had gone...but we will be back at them very soon.
