  1. Only 15 guns turned up for the last shoot, yet I regularly get 100+ views of these posts. £15 for a 60 bird shoot over a challenging and scenic ground. Fibre wad cartridges available for £4:50/25 box. Tea/coffee on the ticket. Bacon rolls etc can be purchased. 12:30 start, last ticket 16:00. It has to be better than shopping (I won't say with the wife, because women are very welcome to come and shoot), cutting the grass, decorating or watching football. Sorry no postcode for the sat nav. See my earlier posts for details/directions or drop me a reply. See you there, hopefully.
  2. 60 bird Spoting Clay Shoot Normal price £15:00, for the next shoot on 25/06/16 get £3:00 off by mentioning this post when you pay. Where else can you get a 60 bird shoot for £12:00? This is a friendly and challenging shoot, with 6 stands along the half mile ground. Tea/coffee are on the ticket. Bacon rolls etc are available. Toilet. 12:30 start, last ticket 16:00. The site is best approached via Beesonend Lane off of the Harpenden to St Albans road. Follow the brown fishery signs and the black and white Shoot signs. (sorry no post code for the sat nav and Google Maps points to the nearby farm). Hope to see you there. Don't forget to say you saw this post.
  3. Only 15 shooters turned up for the shoot last Saturday (28 May). This really is an interesting and challenging shoot. The core of returning shooters shows that. What is needed is more guns to come and try it for themselves. The format/layout is never the same twice. The shoot is held every second Saturday, starting at 12:30, last card 16:00. Cost is £15 for 60 birds. Fibre wad cartridges are available at £4:50 a box. Tea and coffee on the ticket. Bacon rolls etc are available. The site has no postcode for the SatNav, it is best approached via Beesonend Lane off of the Harpenden to St Albans Road. Follow the brown fishery signs and the black and white shoot signs.
  4. Despite the poor weather over 20 guns turned up to shoot on Sat 20th Feb. Mainly regulars but also several previous visitors and a couple of new faces. The top score reported to me was 50/60. So it was a challenging shoot. Could you do better? There are no prizes just the friendly banter of your fellow shooters. There is a shoot every second Saturday throughout the year. Pickup up a calendar and/or mug (FoC) which give the shoot dates. The layout/format changes with each shoot. The cost for a 60 bird round is £15, you can have a second round for £12. Tea/coffee on the ticket. Bacon rolls and more can be purchased. Cartridges are available at £4:50 / box 25. Starts 12:30, you shoot at your own pace in your own group or join a group. For more details go to www.redbournburyfishery.co.uk or see Redbournbury Fishery and Shooting Clays on Facebook (look at Visitors Posts - click >). NOTE: The post code AL3 6RS and site flag given on Google maps are for the farm. The site is best approached from the A1081 St Albans to Harpenden road. Turn down and follow Beesonend Lane to the ford. Turn right on the ford to continue down the lane to the site. Look out for the Brown fishery signs and on shoot days the Black and White boards and arrows. If you approach from the A5183 St Albans to Redbourn road via Redbournbury Lane (past the Mill) you will have to cross two wide and sometimes deep fords. The site is on the flood plane and can be wet and muddy, so bring suitable footwear. On non shoot days the site offers two fishing lakes, one fly fishing for trout, the other is a well stocked coarse lake. Both are available on day tickets. In season there is chalk stream fishing for Brown Trout (strictly catch and release). Ask for details.
