Well, it looks like a triple dip recession is around the corner. People tell me we all have our part to play and paying tax is a major part of an individuals' commitment. With this in mind, has the time come to outlaw cash in hand payments for people? It would solve two main problems:
1. People will have to pay their fair share of tax.
2. It will stop people undercutting genuine tradespeople, which damages the welfare of so many small businesses.
So, what are your views? Please don't get bogged down with major businesses (Starbucks etc) paying taxes first - it is a separate issue!!! I feel that the whole cash in hand business is murdering our trades people and costing the country in revenue.
