  1. I use a fairly hefty 12g O/U for driven shooting and am now considering options for the off-season. Full days on vermin patrol - everything from squirrels to pigeons and corvids. More walking than shooting is my expectation. I dont want to carry the old blunderbuss around and so am in the market for another gun. I'm thinking of a 28g - but that may be me just wanting a different calibre for some strange reason. Is that a viable option or should I stick with 12g and get a side-by-side? I don't want an automatic. Cartridge cost is not an issue - I will not be shooting thousands - and I don't feel the need to put an immense amount of lead in the air.
