hey everyone,
well after shooting my first left and right at a flock of crossing canada geese i thought ild have a look around for recipes but not many people seemed that keen on the *******. So i breasted both birds, sliced up one of the breast to fry off just for an idea of the taste and texture and decided to treat it as beef but was abit feed up of the same old carrots, tats and swede etc.
So after looking around this is what i did with the rest...
I cut the remaining breast meat into inch size pieces like stewing steak and popped into the slow cooker on low with just enough water to cover them for 12 hours with nothing more than salt and pepper.
After the 12 hours i added 2 beef and 2 herd stock pots from knorr plus 2 tablespoons of worcester sauce and added more water.
I then chopped up into half inch pieces... 6 tomatoes, 1 onion, 2 courgettes, 1 red pepper, 1 yellow pepper, 4 cloves of garlic ( chopped a little smaller ) mixed these together withe oil, salt, pepper and chilli flakes and roasted them all together in the oven for roughly an hour and a bit.
All the contents then went into the slow cooker for about another 6 hours, the stew was taken to work where none of the lads had ever eaten goose before and lucky for me i can plug the slow cooker in at work, come dinner time the stew had, had 21 hours in total and was demolished by 6 lads that are begging me to make it again.
thanks for reading cant wait to hear the next honk in the distance.
