It's Rainin White Feathers
How long will it take birds to notice and use regularily in decent numbers a field of barley stubble? i know fellas who are out the next morning in a field that has only been cut the previous day! Surely it would need a few days?
paul tony cassidy
mate a field beside me was cut on wednesday and pigeons were on it all week, about 200 or so, i set my decoys up yesterday evening at 4pm and by 7pm i had 40 shot and at least that missed, when back to the field at 5am this morning only to notice 2 other hides set up in the field... M ROBSON
I've seen Pigeons dropping into a field with the combine still in it, especially if they hit it hard if it was blown. Same with sprayed Rape fields, the first pickings are the best for the birds. Mark.
Staffs-Shooter
The field we set up on yesterday, and moved due to bailer coming, had birds dropping in after the machine. Went this morning & they were hitting the area around the bail pile hard - must have had a lot of fresh barley on the floor. Worth noting that birds will revisit a field after the swath has been removed to eat the seed from below - so keep watching.
