Paddy
I'm getting fed up lugging all this gear around with me and am trying to lighten my load somewhat on each outing. The cartridges are in fact the heaviest but I guess I can't do without them! Will camouflage gear work as well as a hide with deacoys? It would be great to be able to leave the hide behind as I usually only have a couple of hours at a time - four young kids to look after! The hide entails the three poles, three metal spikes to go into the ground and a hammer! What is the minimun I can get away with? Also how many deaks do you guys use to start the ball rolling. I only have 7 woodie shells and 3 full body crow decoys, would more make a difference? Paddy
lazza
I try to lighten up every now & then.............you can decoy without a hide, but you do need a ditch or good cover to stand in..........you could always try just taking the netting,& tying it up.............With the decoy's.........I use full bodied, & dead birds....so I can't really lighten up on those..........although alot of people use shells. I usually like to start with a dozen or more decoy's, & add to it with dead birds. I think the most I've ever had out at one time is 50 odd..........took some clearing up though!.....
