David B
Every evening for the past few weeks we have seen two pigeons sitting side by side on our back garden fence. They stay on our fence for about 30 minutes. During this time they always seem to end up mating. One jumps on top of the other one, they are like this for about 30 seconds and before they part the pigeon on the top spreads out its back feathers. My wife has said she has seen it happen a couple of times in one evening. Can anyone tell me the following. 1. Would these be the same two pigeons every evening? 2. Are they mating? 3. Do pigeons keep the same mate for life? 4. How much longer is this likely to go on for? We have been in this house for 26 years and this is the first year that this has happened. Thank you for your help. David B
