burntout
Hello again, I've now got my cert and will be picking up my main gun in a fortnight from Brierely Guns in Birmingham with any luck and as the title suggests I'm wondering whether there is any more experienced guns out there who'd be able to take me out for a day and give me some guidance on pigeons. I'll be joining the BASC either this month or very beginning of next so will be sorted with insurance. I intend to book in for a couple of lessons on clays once I've got my o/u. As a bit of history I've shot clays countless times before (just never with my own gun) and have been pigeon shooting once previously. I've been shooting air rifles for some 14 years so am very aware of the importance of gun safety and basic field craft, especially with respect to leaving an area how one finds it and respecting your quarry. I should be gaining permissions for the shotgun (having to lose 2 so far with the rifle which aren't suitable in this instance) at the start of next year as some of the land is used for walkup days and is leased by Westwick Farms - they dont appreciate folks scaring off the birds for some pigeons! Anyway, if anyone out there would be able to help me it would be much appreciated but no issue if not as I understand folks can be weary. Many thanks Tom
