Does the HW95 have the same action as the HW80?

Does the HW95 have the same action as the HW80? Is it the same enternals or are they built differently?

Not sure, but I know the barells are interchangeable. I doubt they are the same because there is a difference in weight. Having owned both I feel the 95 has a faster lock time. Could be wrong. I have a fish about.

Sorry I don't know how to transfer things to this page. Anyway what comes up is a story about a polish guy who wants a suggestion as to what rifle he should choose as a base for some super dooper custom job he has in mind.

In one of them he mentions that Venom used to tune an 80 by sleeving down the cylinder to the same size as the 95 and fitting a 95 piston. So they ain't the same.

The short answer is that the designs of the 2 are more or less the same, but the dimensions of the components are not.

E.g the 95 has a 26 mm diameter piston whereas the 80 is 30 mm.

That's why the 80 makes it's power more easily & is better suited to FAC applications than the 95.
