sounds like its had the diesel pump wound up a bit is it a disco 200 or a def 200 in your 90 ?the disco 200tdi makes around 120 brake as standard and the def 200 tdi is 112 brake standard got the pump wound up on my 90 (disco 200tdi) with a straight through pipe and k and n filter makes about 135 brake horse and i still get around 26 to the gal taking it easy what do you get :)

Depending on what's been done, I'd say you could relativley easily re-adjust the injection pump. The bigger intercooler is a good thing as with the fueling set correctly it should give better economy. There are basically three adjustments on the injector pump. The low manifold pressure, the full load delivery and the automatic fuel control. Do you notice it being particularly smokey under heavy acceleration? I would guess if you bring back particularly the afc you might notice a bit more economy. you can adjust quite easily and experiment as you use it normally. As you're going downwards you shouldn't need an eghaust gas temp guage to make sure you are staying safe.
