bsa comet

I have just bought an old bsa comet 177 for my seven year old son to use

its in good condition, but im going to tru oil the stock but ive noticed the barrel

is been browned rather than blued,

so my question is can anybody help with the age of this gun?

 

the serial number i found on the gun just above the trigger the stamp reads B66772

Hi James,

According to the BSA website they only started making those in 2006.

found out they started making the comet in 1945 but still no joy ageing mine

You could try emailing BSA and asking them. Might be worth a try!

i think i have it suused spoke to airgun sprares and going off the serial number he has aged it at 1947

for its age it is in great condition but i have also emailed bsa and im just waiting for confermation.

im just oiling the stock will post pics of the finnished job
