Gas rams again

Hi guys

Next probably silly question!

I cant seem to find very much on gas rams for bsa lightning/super sport i.e how much and how to fit one!

also the lightning and the supersport are effectivley the same, one with a carbine barrel and a silencer and one without, but i have heard that if you remove the silencer from a lightning it increases in power, so if i got a gas ram for a supersport to go in the lightning would it then become under powered?

any help would certainly be greatfully recived as this twanging noise is getting on my nerves and i can't afford a pcp!

Thanks jw

If you remove the silencer from the Lighnting, you'll be left with a barrel about 6inches long, and an impossible cocking effort. It won't increase the power. Thats probably the biggest load of horse **** I've ever read in my life. It'll also make your rifle about as accurate as a catapult.

What is the obsession with people wanting to squeeze extra power out of their air rifles? I don't understand the need for it! If you want a rimfire, get a rimfire!!

A legal limit 12ftlb air rifle is more than enough to deal with an quarry on the air gun list. Rely on field craft and ability to get within range, don't just think that a more powerful rifle will increase the distance you can shoot from.

Woody dude,

I am sure that JW can stand up for himself but...

Try reading his post properly. He isn't asking whether he can get extra power out of his gun, rather will adding Supersport components to his Lightning adversely affect it.

What is the obsession with people thinking people are wanting to squeeze extra power out of their air rifles?
