SirWingAlot
Hello everyone. I have recently bought a cometa 300s .22 secondhand, which has had an OX spring fitted into it. it was posted to me, and has received some shaking in the post, and the drop over the fence into my back garden probably didn't help either! Thanks postman pat! The previous owner (bought from the trading post on this site) says he had no issues with the gun. But when I cock the gun, it will discharge at random, and the trigger is way too sensitive to be safe. It fires with the safety still on, and even just a slight jolt will cause it to fire. It also fires whilst i'm half way through cocking it, on the return of the barrel to the firing position. I have looked at both trigger catch (not adjustable) and piston and cannot see any sign of wearing, so my question to you is: is it possible that the ox spring is too powerful for the firing mechanism? if so, would one a titan spring be a better fit? or do i need to just get a new trigger mechanism and piston? This is the first air rifle I've bought as I new to the sport, and any advice you can offer would be very welcome. Cheers guys!
