Norrie
Hiya, I collect Sea Angling books, and have a dealer coming to see/value them tonight, so, i've been spending the day cleaning and organising them..this is some of them.. Anyway, I've found a few mags and books that are shooting related, and thought, they are no good to me..so, here you go... This is entitled Half A century of Sport in Hampshire. It was written in about 1918-9, and is as the opening page says..."Being Extracts From the Shooting Journals of James Edward 2nd Earl of Malmesbury". The journal covers from the start of the 19th C to the mid Century. Please see the pics. I just realised why I have this one...its edited by the great AFLALO, who wrote many of the books on SA that I have.. Now, condition, its over 90 years old, and in that time has suffered water damage to the top of the book, but its totally protected the pages and plates.. but the binding is complete, and reasonably tight, as are the pages.....There is a signature in the book, but no idea who this is..might well be someone "famous". Plates are all present too. It's a great reading copy for anyone interested in local shooting history in Hampshire. Price. £20 incl post, 1st Class recorded.
