abadshot
Hopfully this is in the right place, I'm going out next week with a friend on some land his family has, neither of us has used decoys before and thought we'd give it a go, is there a certain pattern you should put them out in or is it just random placement? Will a dozen be enough or will we need to get more? Thanks,

Zabala
Planning is essential, have e reccy around your friends land before the day you intend to shoot. Look where the pigeons are feeding and on what crop. Try to establish any predominant flight lines. Decide on possible locations for the hide. The patterns in the previous reply are a very good guide but try experimenting as the day progress's. Make sure your decoys are easily visible above the growing crop and try to create some movement with wobly sticks. Remain concealed in the hide until the birds are fully committed to landing and within range. Most of all, enjoy.
