Bali
OK here is the question. I have a .22 LR rifle and so does my mate I want to buy his and he wants to buy mine. Now how do we go about each getting a one for one variation as I can't sell to him and he can't sell to me as neither of us has a vacant slot to purchase. Am I missing an easy way for us to get around this little problem We both have a number of firearms on our licences so getting a variation should not be a problem Have a think and I look forward to reading your answer Thanks Nick
DaveK
Technically you both hand them in to an RFD and then apply for a variation - then with the empty slot, each of you get their new rifle from the RFD and inform the licensing dept that you have filled the empty slot. Now the sensible way. Get in touch with your firearms department and tell them what you want to do. Ask them if they want you to make work for them or can you both send your licenses in and have the rifles swapped over.
Bali
Thanks DaveK my mate did contact the firearms department today and that is what they said but I was hoping we could do it a simpler way. Would an RFD still charge the £25ish fee as technically we are obtaining the rifles from him
