Chris Bb Posted March 18, 2011 Report Share Posted March 18, 2011 Just after Christmas I sold my beloved lightweight, it was getting too expensive every MOT, chassis rusting and now electrics starting to fail. Went out today to look at a just cast ex Cyprus Defender 90 soft top. Looked good from the outside but as soon as I sat in it it just didn't feel "right". A bit too large? Instruments not what I'm used to in a Series machine? Diesel engine just a bit too noisy? Or was it just that it was poorly presented on a rainy day with no chance to drive it? Anyone else made the transition? will I come to accept one of these beasts or should I just give up on military Land Rovers? Possibly a civilian number would suit me better? Rushjob Posted March 18, 2011 Report Share Posted March 18, 2011 I combined both. Rebuilt my Lightweight on a 90 chassis - Rover SD1 V8 bolted onto an early 110 V8 4 speed box.
