Preparing the Vit

Iv done lots of little bits and pieces on my Vit since I got it,

I want to use it this winter for game shooting and need to know of any mods or improvements that are recommended before I embark on a season of (ab)use.

Its got some decent tyres and its had a good service, new cam belt and front brakes and lots of other bits and pieces.

I did think about a suspension lift but im not a serious 4x4er so it would be wasted and im happy with what i can drive over as it is.

I was thinking of fitting some decent recovery points front and rear incase i get stuck.

Iv seen a neat threaded bar idea for the front but im at a loss what to do at the back end

Is there anything else i should consider?

Cheers Daveo.

Protection. Buy/make some underbody protection. You never know when a rock hidden by rushes will strike your sump or transfer box. I had one last year hit my transfer box. Cost £150 for a 2nd hand one. Set that off against the cost of a few sheets of steel etc and a load of stainless nuts, bolts and washers and your labour and it's a no brainer.

If you are going to be going through any water get diff breathers etc.

Waterproof the electrics if possible too.
