JustJon
Hi, Got about 300 or 400 quid to spend on myself (birthday treat) and wanted to bulk up the decoy equipment I have. I have - pigeon decoys, hide poles, net (not sure i like the net). The plan is to get stuff to decoy both pigeons and crows as I have a lot of crows around me. The purchase list was, all from UK SW, a rotary package including battery, speed controlled, hyla flap pigeons. 2 hyla flap crows to swap when on crows. 2 floater sticks and foam pigeons for them. Was going to get crows for these too but can only get more hyla flaps from UK SW? Not sure these fit? Also, 8 sillo sock crows - 6 head up and 2 head down (crows seem to stand in field quiet still and head up very often?) Also a stealth cammo net. Thoughts? This comes in around 350 which is fine. How do I decoy the crows? Was thinking 8 sillosocks, a rotary and a couple of floaters but other thoughts appreciated - and if this is the way how do I get crow floaters if hyla flaps won't work? And while I appreciate some people will say 'make this, make that, save money' I work hard and play hard - I'd rather spend it than make it as I have limited spare time so don't mind spending a bit of money sometimes. Much appciated, Jon
Redditch
I use a mixture of pigeons, crows, and magpie decoys, then you get whatever is flying over coming in. I ordered some Edge by Expedidite Triple Play Motion decoy sets, One in Dove, and one in crow. The dove I can soon convert to woodies, or just leave them as they are amongst the woodie decoy´s. I can probably convert both to woody or crow, just by swapping the decoys over. I ordered them from RC hunting store in the states, and both sets together including postage came to about $ 140.00 dollars US. Each has three decoys which carousel around in different directions. I believe you can find them on you tube, otherwise there is a video of them at the store site too I believe Looks to be a good bit of kit, and I´m looking forward to them arriving in the next week or two. Over here floaters seem to work better than magnets in general, so I´ll have to wait and see what these perform like.
