general--lee
hi i have a bsa meteor .22 but looking on chambers site i cant work out which one it is, the trigger is very heavy and looks like a part has broken off, doesnt seem to have an adjusting screw? number by cocking arm is te76900 im guessing mk1?? looking on chambers the sight at end of barrel looks like the mark3 the bigger style the mk1-2s look atlot smaller? also fitted a new spring recently and now the telescopic sight slides back even with hawk mounts, would a 1 peice mount cure this? im sure ive seen on a mates gun a sight stop type thing bolted to dove tails but cant find any info on these?? just been out and brought a .177 smk co2 xs78 thing but i really want to get the bsa back working thanks in advance for help Edited September 23, 2011 by general--lee

SteveieP
If your scope mount has a stop- pin, you might benefit from drilling a stop hole in the receiver. The dovetails are real shallow on these 7 for a low power rifle, you'd think kicking the scope off wouldn't be a problem, but actually it is. I appreciate you may not be too pleased about drilling a hole into the receiver, but once the mount is in plcae you won't see it. Don't let the stop-pin go in too far & impede the movement of the mainspring.
general--lee
thanks for replies, i have ordered some more scope mounts as the other ones are damaged, im not worried about drilling into gun so will go down that route. thanks
jo zanble
Hi Guys, I have recently been given an old bsa meteor by my grandfather. it is at least 55 years old, he said he bought it about that long ago and it was second hand back then although it is in immaculate condition. I am trying to work out if it is a mk 1 or not, the serial on the cocking arm starts with NE, i did see some posts listing a few prefixes so they could be identified to the rifle date of production but this one is not there. its deffinatley a bsa meteor im just a bit stuck with finding out how early it is, can anyone help?
