Bushman Pete
Hello, I have just started to make my first shells with my antique mec600jr and I found my primers don't fit in the re-prime pocket. I think it was for older primers that were smaller, I have a few left in a box. The guy I got the mec off used both types of primers. I can sit the primer on it and pull the handle. It inserts the primer but it is not flush with the brass, only a fraction of a mm out. I don't know if I can use shells like this. Is this because they will not fit in the hole? Bushman Pete
did you complete the downstroke? what primers are you using? I am using winchester 209 primers. I completed the stroke. and the primer is seated. I think the copper lip is thicker than the primer that came out so it is not flush. We are only talking a faction of a mm. You can hardly notice it. I think my mec has a priming pocket for the old surefire primers. the hole you put the primers in is too small. they just sit on top, it still works though. I don't suppose anyone has a spare one that would not mind selling? Peter
