The Jackson
What are everyone's thoughts in regards to the weather and pigeon shooting at the moment??? I've not had any experience in shootin pigeons this time of year, usually it's in the summer months. I've got pigeon feeding on rape at the moment, on my permission. I was considering going out in the morning and setting some decoys up where they've been thinning the rape out. But with this cold weather I'm not sure if they'll come in or not? If anyone's got some advice I'd appreciate it. Cheers Nath

proTOM1
I think cold weather can help but if there is no wind like it has been today it can be a waste of time ,me and 2 others of pw were on rape today been a good 500 birds on all week day dawn cold hard frost bright but no wind and we shot 7 very poor . You will stand more chance if you have a nice wind blowing
Pads28
You are luckey to have them on the rape now it is still very mild. still a lot food about,I have not seen any pigeons for weeks? Are they hitting the rape hard? if so then you may have to shoot it to protect the crop ,If not wait for the frost, and remember a 20 bird bag is agreat days sport in winter. The Jackson
Well I went out early at -3 degrees. Ouch, set up and got ****** all. They were flying but just wouldn't come in. It was as if the trees had more to offer than the rape
