Richard756
Thinking about next season already, I have read alot about keeping phesants from walking off on here eg plenty of food water and dogging in. But does anyone put grit down? I have read on other web sites that this also help keep pheseants close.
Kes
We put grit down as the area we shoot is small grained sandstone and sandstone soils. If you heve a natural occurrence of 2=3 mm dia grit stones on the ground in the area of your shoot, you wont need it but for our area, as an addition, it seems to help. From our experience it wont make a mega difference but for the cost involved and the benefit to the birds, I'd recommend it.
