Through vehicle roof lamp

Following on from my previous post about a green Cree gun mounted lamp, for solo foxing, when my mates away. I have been working on a through vehicle roof lamp.

Ok, the only cheapest through roof mount I could find, was the Lightforce one, from Uttings, £75.98, delivered. I understand "Hella" do something similar, but couldn't find any details.

NOW, the lamp.

I wanted a 170 lamp, with a choice of filters, but the Lightforce RM170 @ around £125, I thought was a stupid price. So, I eventually went for a Ucaller 170, scope mounted lamp, from Scotfieldsports, £68, delivered, as it looked as if could be easily modified. The Utube Vid of the lamp is Here .

Now, the first thing was to dispose of the scope mount, dispose of the rear "T" handle, it just unscrews and cut the 2 downward flanges off the downward "handle".

With some good tin snips, I cut some 1/16th galv sheet and formed into a sqare "U". Drilled through twice, to fit 2 X 6mm ss coach bolts, washers and locknuts. Drilled a hole in the base, to accept the Lightforce fitting, washer, lock washer and nut, and Bobs your uncle, a 170 roof mounted lamp for half the price of a Lightforce one.

Here you go, now for the roof

Edit... The bayonet connectors are so the lamp can be disconnected and unscrewed for security reasons
