PSG - Wedgenock vs Boarder guns

Recommended Posts

Me and the Mrs fancy a go at PSG to see if we enjoy it .......

Having looked on the UKPSG map we seem to sit right between these 2 clubs, can anyone recomend either or even better are there any members of either club on here that can help us out as we have a few questions. We are both SGC holders and have a 20g Pump and 12g Semi section 3 (2+1 max capacity).

So our questions are:

*What is classed as a "round" ? (ie. how many targets to shoot and what ranges are targets over and are there certain stances to take)

*How much is a "round" of PSG ? if we bring out own cartidges ?

*What facilities are there on site ?

Matt,

In answer to your questions :

*What is classed as a "round" ? (ie. how many targets to shoot and what ranges are targets over and are there certain stances to take)

It depends who sets it up. It could be from 10 to 20 (for us) per stage, some other clubs may differ. I usually take 100 cartridges plus slug. At Diggle we shoot off both shoulders and we may also do all different stances in one course of fire. Ranges are different, some can be close and others out at 35 yards. We had a set of plates a month ago and we were trying to hit them with slug  from 35 yards, its harder than it seems

*How much is a "round" of PSG ? if we bring out own cartidges ?

At Diggle for members it would be about £2, for none members it would be more.

*What facilities are there on site ?

Sorry can't help you with this as I have never been to either of these clubs.

I asume that its all shot with full choke ?

Not always. Full choke is fine when using shot shells, but not when using slug. You will enjoy it, its good fun :good: If you do not have slug on your ticket, the club may not let you shoot it until you have a section 1 with it on (unless you already have of course  ). They may also have a league/competition for none FAC guns as you will be at a disadvantage on the stages when you start with a full magazine as some will hold 9 or more.

Hi,

I'm a member of Wedgnock they hold some of the UKPSG a couple of times a year there but there is no offical PSG held regularly at Wedgnock. There is talk of setting one up if there's enough numbers.

You should do the safety course at borders there's one over the 26/27 May. I know this because me and a friend thinking about starting up PSG too and we're looking to get onto this course.
