Paxtond
Hi guys. last night was my end of my 6th month probation period at my club. im going to be doing my FAC application this weekend ready to be sent off on wednesday, now i have a few questions before i get started? i want to ask for 2x 22.lr so i can have a target rifle and a mp5/m4 rep for evenings at the club when i just want to do some plinking to unwind. 1x 7.62 for our trips to bisley for long range target. 1x .17HMR for rabbits on my permission now i have been shooting air rifles on my permission for just over 4 years with no problems but fancy something with a bit more range and power, i have held back on applying for a rimfire for this task so i can apply all at he same time. i have asked the land over and he is happy with me to use a live round on his land. Will this be ok? my second questions is am im ok with multiply firearms of the same cal for the same thing? like i said im after a dedicated target rifle as well as a mp5 rep for when i fancy mixing things up. and last but not least, our club travels to bisley around 10 times a year, is this enough 'reason' for me to apply for a centerfire? sorry if this has been asked about before, i did search but found mixed answer and the threads often ended in arguments thanks

Will this be ok? That should be fine, the police will have to pass the land for the calibre you apply for, as long as it's safe to shoot you'll be fine. Expect to need a permission slip signing saying the farmer is happy for you to shoot there. my second questions is am im ok with multiply firearms of the same cal for the same thing? like i said im after a dedicated target rifle as well as a mp5 rep for when i fancy mixing things up. You are fine to have more than 1 rifle chambered for the same round, what you have to do is show good reason for each one. Whether you can have 2 .22 target rifles or not I can't say, but if you can think of a good reason to put forward to the firearms department then it's a yes. and last but not least, our club travels to bisley around 10 times a year, is this enough 'reason' for me to apply for a centerfire? I should think so, going there on a regular basis is showing a good reason.
