Daveo26
I went clay shooting to the Boar at Glossop today with my new (to me) Lincoln premier 20 bore. We got soaked. I was supprised to find when I got home that the grain on the stock was up, like the stock had no finish on it. I applied some walnut stock oil with fine wirewool when I cleaned the gun. I could actually see the oil get sucked into the wood! I feels and looks much better now, Anyone else had this? Should I just keep applying the oil? fo5ter
A decent oil finish should be water repellant - rub the oil in with your hands until your hands are hot and the oil dry, should stop that happening
