Richy p
Got myself one of the tenterfield best fox call whistles, and ill be honest it took a bit of practice, about a week in fact until i felt confident enough to use it in the field. Was out on one of my permissions with tony g another pwm, actually doing some rabbit control when we got a flash of the eyes from across a pond, the fox high tailed it as quick as we see it, a quick plan was made to get down wind to a river which was more open and if we managed to call it in it could only come from the left or right of the river, now i was using a .22 for the rabbits so quickly changed mags to high velocity, and i would like to make it clear that i dont go out looking for foxes with this caliber but will take only head shots with high velocity if a fox presents itself properly, resulting in a clean dispatch. Well i had no problems with the presentation because as soon as i started calling we scanned the lamp quick and see him quartering us to get down wind, knowing he couldn't get behind us due to the river, i got myself into position with the rifle and gave about 20 seconds of calling, when my mate turned the lamp i was shocked to see it sitting 5 yards away sitting bolt upright, my mate was that shocked he actually turned the lamp off for a second but soon turned it back on resulting in one dead fox, this call is the nuts http://i1355.photobucket.com/albums/q716/Richyp1981/2013-04-06223613_zpsa692f9a2.jpg Went out a few nights later with the 22 250 around the shoot and just sat round the back of the farm scanning the fields before dark to see what was moving, got the call out and called on and off for a couple of minuets, low and behold one came into the field about 100yrds away looking about, i let him settle down then got behind the rifle gave a little squeak he looked up, i took the shot and he was down. Theres something about this call that gets them running, very impressive, cant wait to get out again http://i1355.photobucket.com/albums/q716/Richyp1981/2013-04-11203129_zpsd0b588dd.jpg
