My beasties

Beautiful dogs. Never heard of the breed, some kind of bull breed I'm guessing? What were they originally bred/used for?

Thank you. No, not bull breeds, they are of the molosser variety though.

Cane Corso Italiano were war dogs and catch dogs for boar and cougar hunting.

Boerboels are South African dogs used as general farm dogs for protecting the farmstead and livestock from wild animals and uninvited guests.

Both my dogs are rescue dogs and have some minor temperament issues but I still love their bones!

They've both filled out a little since those photos. Bella is about 48kg and Bentley is about 52kg. Even so, they are probably afraid of rabbits and pheasants!

Stunning breed mate, very nice dogs & well done re-homing them....very clever dogs.

My daughter went to South Africa a few years ago and stayed with a family who had three of these.

She said they followed the owner every where he went, as soon as he stood up so did they.

Boerboel in SA are amazing. Visitors need to be introduced to the dogs, they are then free to come and go. Boerboels are known as "velcro dogs".
