Gun Watch Posted June 22, 2014 Report Share Posted June 22, 2014 Unknown Acciaio Vickers garda sport 28" £275 12 gauge Shotgun Private Seller Used - Excellent Condition rhondda cynon taff, Rhondda Cynon Taff Side by Side, -, -, 28" barrels Description Thank you for looking at my gun, its an Acciaio Vickers garda sport. I am not sure of its true age as ive only owned it for a year or so but i believe its from the early eighties. The gentleman i bought it from is a neighbour who has owned it since it was only a few months old (and he can not remember how long hes had it) The previous owner only really used the gun on beaters day so the gun is still very tight with the colour case hardening in nice condition. The gun did show some signs of age so the barrels where sent away to be professionaly re-blacked and the woodwork has been stripped and re-oiled. The re-oiling process involved over twenty coats of stain and oil rubbed in by hand before being taken back to a satin finish. The action was cleaned and degreased and inspected before the gun was reasemmbled Since the restoration was complete no more than a dozen shots have been fired which is one of the reasons im selling it, the other reason is fund raising for a new semi auto Since owning this gun i have done some investigating to find out more about it, unfortunatly i have had little luck, i have also only seen one other example for sale which was a 20 or 28 bore which sold for the same money im asking for this and was in no where near as good a condition. It is i believe a right handed gun but i shoot left handed and have had no issues what so ever in using it The gun is available for inspection in the CF39 area of south wales and weather permitting testing on a local farm (bring your wellies!) if you want more information please contact me.
