I got in touch with a game keepter through a clay club who charges £50 for the days pigeon shooting. It included all the setup like hide, deeks, magnets etc so it seemed like a good deal. Just before i bought a brand new Hatsan Escort for the job and was worried about how it would handle on the day as i couldnt test it before hand. We met the game keeper near warrington and followed him over to the estate for about 9am. By 11am we had been loaded into the hilux, driven to our spot and setup a hide. Shortly after he left i was told to let a few shots off to stir things up and the pigeon started to fly in. As i was still learning the ropes i used a box of carts on about 5 birds and a couple were taken a little long range for my liking so i soon changed that. After the full day i had a bag of 16 whic wasnt bad concidering the bird were scarse in the afternoon. We got a quick lesson on how to breast them so when i got home i removed the tiny breast from the birds. I chucked a few in a bad and covered with nando's marinade for by breakie today. As with most of my hobbies i really enjoy them but find i cant do them as often as i can because of the ££ involved. I guess i should make a push for permission........
