Will H
Hi everyone, I've just received my SGC and thought I'd post up the timeline of the application process as it may be of some use to anyone applying in the Devon and Cornwall area. So... Application sent – 26th May 2015 Application received – 28th May 2015 Application acknowledged as received – 29th May 2015 Cheque cashed – 8th June 2015 Call made to FLO to check progress – 12th June 2015 – application sent to FEO – expect contact in 3 to 4 weeks Contact with FEO – 16th June 2015 – Interview arranged for 17th June Interview with FEO – 17th June 2015 – will process on 18th June (probably) Referee contacted by FEO – 18th June 2015 License received – 2nd July 2015 All in all the process went very smoothly, it seems a call to check on progress speeded things up - or though this could have just been a coincidence! The FEO was a very pleasant chap and the interview went well - he was impressed by how I'd installed the cabinet (6 large rawl bolts) and went through all the legalities of acquiring and owning shotguns. Overall very pleased at how long it took after reading horror stories about applications taking 6 months plus so well done Devon and Cornwall Constabulary!
