Popgun
The spring drilling is about finished here now, went out yesterday fields all turning green now no birds on the fields a few birds floating about. i saw about 10 birds get up off a gravel farm track. set up my hide in the hedge, put a few decoys each side of the track about 20 yards from the hide packed up after 2.5hrs with 18 pigeons and 1 crow, when breasting off the pigeons later found that most were on buds beech i think
M ROBSON
Well done. At the entrance to one of our farms there is a grit box that has fallen over, the pigeons are never away from it in the mornings, it's not uncommon to see 10-15 birds there every time you pass. Mark. Suffolk shooter
I have noticed for the last few years that Woodies as well as collared doves, seem to "feed" on rock salt skips (The yellow bins). They must have worked out that they can get X amount of minerals and salts form these. Anybody tried decoying one of these, I assume like all woodie type scenarios, ideal if you have roosting and water nearby??? SS
