fieldwanderer
Hey all. well, to start with I'm new here but already have a fair amount of experience shooting. Anyway, first of all I'm a rifle shooter - have been for years and made quite a name for myself target shooting but as I've found, it doesn't help much with using a shotgun (which I'm relatively new to). This post's going to be fairly long winded I'm afraid and some of it's going to be in the wrong section but I'm after advise more than anything; I have a lanber o/u, m/c which I've been getting on fairly well with but I'm starting to think I would like to try something new so here goes; I brought my lanber about a year ago (s/h) for not far short of £400, it's in fair condition though you can see it's had some use (I don't know what model it is of the top of my head) but if anyone's interested I'd like to get £300 for it, complete with chokes and wrench. Ok, so lets say I can get what I'm asking for my current gun (which I think's a reasonable price) and add a bit to it I've got a budget of £400 for my new one. Right, I'm not particularly fussy about brand names as long as it's not going to let me down and I'd preffer an o/u though I have noticed semi auto's for very good prices for example a berretta o/u you're looking at say £400 at the very least but for a semi from the same manufacturer you can find some very nice examples for say £350. So, I'm starting to think along those lines, a nice semi auto from a good manufacturer for £350 - £400. If anyone's interested in a p/x or swap, now's the time to speek up. Right, with that out of the way then, and now you know what I'm looking for and what I can afford. I would like any pearls of wisdom you have to offer. Also, if there's a gun that you can think of and say "that's the one for you" please say so, it would be much appreciated.
08shooter
hi mate the most important thing is that the gun fits you and you feel comfortable with it.if i were you i would look at the 303 beretta and the remmy 1100 both giants in their own rights.you have a wide variety to choose from in your range.i have tried baikal 2 franchi 712s and currently shoot a winny x2 sporting clays, its a keeper for definite.i too am after another auto for the field,i like to try different guns but i think i ll try the remmy this time
