game_boy
Haven't been out with the .22 for ages now and needed to let off steam and get out with it. The rabbits at my mates farm seem to be coming back in numbers so I can happily start popping a few more off now. The last 4 weeks i have been incarcerated in one for m or another due to exams so it was great to finally get out. Fist few I had a shot at I couldn't hit for ****, and went through about 15 rnds before they **** off. So went further out the hill and managed two about the same area and then one up at the hill fence which was a cracking head shot at about 20 yrds so really happy with the result, although I could do with some zeroing in at some point. grasshopper
Your rifle can,t be that far out judging by the head shot in the 3rd pic. Do you not use shooting sticks/ these will steady you, also try some targets out at different ranges to work out the drop off of your ammo. Nice area ya shooting in fella. Good one GH
tulkyuk
Hi a couple of nice Bunnies you got there ( they make a good meal ), but has post above says, try some shooting sticks, they are real easy to use whilst out in the field and cheap too - (go get two garden canes and a bit of bungie from B&Q)- When you get em ,you will find your avarage on kills goes up by loads and you will also be able to take em at a decent range too !. game_boy
Cheers guys, will invest in a bi-pod at some point I think. Had a cheap version of a Harris one but it was ****. Thats the 3 rabbits all minced up now and in the fridge, with the saddles kept whole for eating later! Next i go out will try some different ranges. Do you guys just pace out your ranges for zeroing? or measure it ? Also I've got up to 24 mag on my scope does this affect the accuaracy once zeroed ? Cheers chaps.
