Gun Watch
Ward & Sons consectutive pair £450 12 gauge Shotgun Trade Seller Used - Very Good Condition Harpenden, Hertfordshire Side by Side, -, -, 30" barrels Description WARD & SONS were gun makers in St. Marys Row, Birmingham from 1869 till the 1960s. these side by side hammerless 12 bores dates from the 1920s and is a classic example of their work. This pair of English shotguns are numbered 1594 and 1595. They have a close grained stock of 14 ½ “ with a Prince of Wales grip. The comb is quite low and has a drop at heel of 2.25†the action is crisp and tight on face. The action is probably of Wards own patent as it has an unusual bottom plate entry and conical fences. There is a hidden third bite operated from the top lever and has auto safety. The 30†barrels are choked ic and ¾ under a concave rib and the fore end has the traditional snap fitting. No. 1 barrels have some slight marks but serviceable for a collectables use. This is reflected in the price of £450. If you want a historic pair of English gun or your name is Ward they could be for you. I have about 25 of these provincial guns by various English and Scottish makers as well as a vast range of imports. Phone on 01582 768617 or text on 07453506500 rather than email.
