ZABALA HERMANOS WERE A PROMINENT GUN MAKER OF THAT ERA, OFTEN MANUFACTURING GUNS FOR OTHERS TO IMPORT SUCH AS GUNMARK INTO THE UK. AYA GAVE THEIR FIELD GUN THE ENGLISH MODEL NAME YEOMAN, WHILE UGARTACHEA HAD THE MASTER AND SARRIUGARTE THE HARRIER. ZABALA STUCK TO THEIR ROOTS AND CALLED THEIRS THE BASQUE. THIS GUN HAS 27.5” BARRELS MID CHOKED AT ¼ AND ¾ UNDER A CONCAVE FILE RIB WITH 2 ¾“ (70mm) CHAMBERS. THE BORES ARE IN GOOD CONDITION. THE GUN WOULD BENEFIT FROM A LIGHT RESTORATION, THE BLUEING HAS FADED AND THE STOCK SLIGHT SCRATCHES. THE GRAINING IS BETTER THAN MOST ON THIS GRADE OF GUN.
