matto
Would a 410 be any good for pigeons? One of the fields on my shoot is a magnet for pigeons but due to its size (150m at one end and 200m at the other) and public roads i dont think its safe for a 12 bore plus there is a footpath in the middle. I currently shoot this field with a air rifle which is good sport but there are so many pigeons it will take me forever to clear it by which time the crop will have been destroyed. eugene molloy
Matto, A .410 is fine if you realise that the effective range is only 20 yards. That's because the weight of shot thrown is much less than from a 12. Unfortunately a .410 drives the pellets just as far and as fast as the bigger calibres, so you won't gain any extra safety margin. regards Eug
Guest Mr Pieman
Matto, you need to obey the same safety distances for a .410 as you do for a 12 bore The law makes no distinction between calibres PP
