Snowblind
Well whilst waiting to get my last pay cheque from work (just returned to uni) so that I can buy a mate's FN12, I've bought a cheapo SMK B2, fired about 500 shots with it and seems alright for 30 yard open sights practice, hitting where I want it pretty regularly and killed a few pigeons so far. I have a problem with it though. The barrel started not locking back into position after preloading the spring and loading a pellet. In fact I simply could not push the barrel back into the rest of the gun, let alone lock it into place. Under further inspection I noticed that the springed rod that locks the barrel down and that is pushed back with a catch lever on the side to break the barrel has revolved and is sitting pretty much at 90 degrees to what it used to be, so the barrel cannot slide it back to lock into position when trying to 'un-break' the barrel or even move it at all. The catch lever has also slipped off the end of it. I took the barrel off the gun completely to see if i could push it back in and twist it round so it would catch on the release lever again but so far I've failed. Has this happened to anyone else? Any ideas on how to fix it? I don't really want to wait a month before being able to fire again.

Snowblind
Sorted it out. Had to do a bit of botching though. First I took it apart. Then I got a pair of pliers and pushed the catch all the way back in as well as twisting it round the right way, then pushed the lever as far forwards as possible with my thumb and tightened it as much as possible without threading it. This has effectively clamped the barrel lock in position so it doesn't get in the way of folding the barrel out or back into position. I then put it back together and the barrel was falling out of the rest of the gun after cocking the spring because the catch wasn't there to hold it down. So I got a strong elastic band and that holds the top of the barrel down flush with the rest of the gun to stop it rotating off on it's break hinge. When I want to load a pellet and cock it i just slide the elastic band up, cock it, put a pellet in, close the barrel down again and replace the band round the top of the barrel and hand grip. Works a treat. Should be able to keep shooting till I buy that FN12 now
