SMLE
This is my 1999 made, JM stamped Marlin (the best of the best) - they don't make them like this anymore! This is the very rare Cowboy Limited model with a 24" octagonal barrel! It's fitted with an original Lyman tang sight (adjustable aperture) and front hooded sight. It has a flip up barrel mounted iron sight however this will need a different front sight to use. The bluing has a nice honest wear to it, the wood also looks lovely, the butt would probably benefit from a wipe down on near the butt pad. Overall it's had some use but presents very well! I gave it a complete clean when I bought it (stripped down) and it all looked great. The action is nice, and it shoots very well! I've only put about 400 rounds through it since purchasing it at the start of 2022 but I've had the opportunity to buy another milsurp so something has to go! (I've got other rifles for sale so I may end up keeping this) I was using 158grn cast bullets with a small dose of Red Dot which produces absolutely delightful low recoil .38 target loads with excellent accuracy at 50 yards. The sight alone is worth £150, you don't see these rifles come up often given only small numbers were made. Just a plain Jane 1894 will sell for £750 all day long The price is a very reasonable £825. Collection from me in Bristol, I'm at Bisley tomorrow (7th May) if anyone wanted to meet there. Thanks!
