Anthony 666 Posted May 20, 2023 Report Share Posted May 20, 2023 Well another early start but this time overlooking the cattle sheds things must be running a bit late this time last year the place was overrun with corvids Obviously youngsters haven't left the nest yet not be long though day started bit misty but soon cleared once sun was up And it's not long before the first birds come down half a dozen jackdaws land first one down with a lovely head shot nice start Its not long before birds are back this time ferals easy targets two down before they take flight then a woody lands straight in trough wait till it pops up then down it goes time for a cupa and bicky it's a few minutes before the next few turns up nice big rook lads on roof walks down to guttering looking at feed and pays the price It's that time l hear the loadall start up farmer's up getting ready to feed-up soon as he shows himself l give him a wave he stops and shouts come and see me when you finish now thats got me thinking lol I sit it out for a few minutes while he goes about his business another cupa and bicky then I've got birds showing interest once he's gone soon take another quickly out to retrieve it and get settled bit of a wait and one drops onto floor other end of yard drop this one with a body shot Its starting to get warmer now and suns well up and are soon getting skittish not wanting to land its a good 20 minutes before l get another chance a loaner walking around roof soon as it's closer to edge l take my chance luckily it drops to floor Another woody gives me another shot then l call it a day kept a few for decoys and couple of woodies for the pan And farmer wants me to call at his mates farm further up the road got a bit of a rat problem well got to show willing be interesting to shoot rat's in the summer im calling tomorrow take a look first 🤞 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
