Rossenarra
As per one of my earlier posts, I’ve decided to take up fox lamping as the pigeon population is not great where I shoot at the moment(prob due to crops), my next two purchases are going to be a rifle for shooting foxes and a clay pigeon trap, I can spend up to say 2K euro for both. As I found with my last post asking questions on this forum pays plenty dividends as one soon gets a good idea of what to buy and what not to buy from leveraging off people knowledge on the forum and avoids buying something that they later find they shouldn’t have. So at that what’s people’s thoughts on a rifle for shooting foxes / rabbits and a clay traps for the above budget amount. I reckon with pigeon shooting, fox/rabbit lamping and clay shooting, I should always be able to get some form of shooting in every weekend (not a happy camper when I don’t get out on a weekend!!!!) regards G
tulkyuk
a 223 is probably your best bet for the foxing side of things and maybe some long range bunnies or a 17hmr may surfice for a duel gun rabbits and foxes, but you will be limited to shooting charlies at under 100yrds with 17hmr wheras the 223 will let you get out to 300yrds + in the right hands Cant go wrong with either a tikka or sako rifle and with that buget you should be able to afford either 1.
