Flappers

Just made a long extention for my flapper and it only cost £1.75

Went to the local farm supplies shop and bought a 5 foot stake that is used for electic fencing, you need to reduce the diamater of the top 2-3 inches (either by filing or cheat a bit and get the angle grinder out) until your flapper will slide onto the end.

Next i heated the end using a blow torch and gave it a few taps with a hammer to give it an angle of about 45 degrees. The one that i bought was zinc coated which was bright and shiny and needed a coat of green paint to give a bit of cammo.

It should work over laid wheat or barley, where you want to get some height to your deeks to give maximum visability, or to make it look like a pigeon dropping into a flat area, the only trouble is it hasnt stopped raining since i made it so i havent had a chance to try it out yet.
