This is not a thread to start off a slagging match just voicing my opinion and if it does turn into a slagging match then mods feel free to shut it down. With the other site pigeon watch forums set up and a lot of members from here jumping over there or joining upto both sites. I think both sites are going to go down hill. Each site will lose its originality its the members that make the sites what they are. There is going to be the same people the same posts on both forums, they will pretty much be twin forums.

Also the constant whinging and bitching on here is pointless. If you have a problem why dont you pm the mods and sort it out quietly instead of causing a massive forum argument. It seems to be the time of year when people have to gang up on the moderators and rip into them. moderating a site is not an easy task but it is a thankless task. Ive moderated a couple of sites and you start off with great ideas but then you realise there is no way physically possible to please everybody. Ive had my run ins with mods on here sometimes ive been in the wrong sometimes in my opinion ive been in the right. You will find this is one of the best forums around for shooting if your into running dogs and terrier work then there are better forums but ive found dog work is fairly well accepted on here as long as you dont mention dog and deer in the same sentence.

 

I guess what im trying to get accross is its all rather pointless when you look at it. forums are here to have a good laugh meet new people and share pictures and stories and gather advice. Not as a place to argue and cause problems. Maybe everyone should get out in the field more and do some hunting instead of being sat infront of your computer arguing with people you have never met

I agree with some of what you are saying.

 

This week it's Sidibear v Henry D. It seems that most replies to the thread have come out on Sidibears side. I agree with the mods 100% that pointless replies to for sale items just to say "I want one but cant afford it" etc. are rightly banned. It does seem however that this case is somewhat different. Most of us know ****** all about Bows so an experts comments were probably worth leaving in place.

 

As for Outlaws departure a few weeks ago, perhaps if the exact reason he had got the bullet had been explained people may have been more willing to just accept it. The mods had plenty of opportunities to give the reason.

 

I agree that the mods have a thankless job. Sometimes they don't do a lot to help their reputations though.

 

The new site seems to be more than just a flash in the pan.
