radio1ham Posted February 18, 2008 Report Share Posted February 18, 2008 well i hit lucky twice using the yellow pages i now have 2 farms in northumberland to shoot on , the first one ive been shooting for around 7 years now and must admit ive had my share of rabbits and also have the farmers permission to shoot deer (but not shot any yet ) aswell and foxes,the second farm ive been shooting on there for over a month or so now , i just foned the farm and had a bit chat with him and a bit daft carry on on the the fone just to get him humored , i said to him :this may be a daft question but whats the chance of me doing a bit shooting on your land and his reply was ,aye nee bother he said im sick to death of all the foxes and said i was the first person to ever fone him he has lost loads of chickens and lambs to the foxes over the years , he said i was hoping someone would come and shoot them but no one ever foned him ,anyway first day on there bagged a nice vixen and him and his wife were over the moon and said thats one less and went up the second time to do a bit lamping and they came straight out to the car soon as i pulled in to the yard a gave me a big tin of quality street to say thanks and i said it should be me giving you these and a bottle of your favourite tipple for letting me shoot on your land ,so thats how i do it and no doubt il do it again with a few other farmers but i have found in most cases where they already have some one shooting on there land most farmers are duvious as to whether to let more people on to shoot as they dont like to many people wandering around their feilds THE PRICE OF A FEW FONE CALLS IS ALOT CHEAPER THAN A FEW GALLON OF PETROL OR DIESEL Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
