Country Boy
I've never held much faith in the so-called traditional decoy patterns, mainly because I used to find a complete random display of deeks facing every which way was as good as and whatever you expect wherever you site your hide the pesky pigeons usually appear from all angles though if you are counting there will be always be one popular approach particularly on a good windy day but don't count on it. So get set up throw out your deeks and when the action starts REFRAIN awhile from shooting and just observe, one thing is guaranteed - how they land - ALWAYS behind another bird. My PREFERRED PATTERN is now the T and I like to sit with my back to the wind with an inverted T pattern twenty yards directly in front with, 35 shells in total, nearest to me a couple of jiggerlers and furthest away two bum-sticks together. But it won't work unless there are two or three at the base of the T facing tail into the wind. That's my tip for the weekend. Bye for now. C.B.
