dont take this the wrong way, but from the sounds of it, all you want a shotty for is to shoot the ducks and pheasants???

there are easier ways of finding out the rules of a shotgun application than looking on here.

maybe i'm wrong but try contacting your local police force for information on applying

and what and why you can shoot things, and when you can shoot things

also, i would remove from your profile the fact that you have shot 3 pheasants since you joined on the 2nd March

Taz,

One bit of advise is before you make the application, make sure you are well aware of gun safety, responsible ownership, game seasons and general do's and don'ts. WHY ??

Your local firearms officer will be a pleasent guy for sure but is no fool and will ask and discuss with you around these topics, so rather than going and saying 'Um Er Wot' 'just wave it about !' .. make sure you practice and discuss with your parents and grand-parents what is good practice in regards gun ownership. This will set a good example to your firearms officer and show you are serious

If you start out safe with the right frame of mind then when you want to progress to other weapons you are well grounded.

Good luck to you
